Tate provides the Tate Photography Series, a new publishing program offering an intro to a few of the most essential and amazing professional photographers at work today. 4 titles will be released each year, all linked through a typical theme. The very first four books, on Liz Johnson Artur, Sheba Chhachhi, Sirkka-Liisa Konttinen and Sabelo Mlangeni explore community and uniformity in distinct ways.
Liz Johnson Artur presents images from her series Time Do not Run Here, made throughout the Black Lives Matter protests throughout the late spring of 2020 in London. Johnson Artur is a Ghanaian-Russian photographer and artist based in London whose work documents the lives of Black people in Africa and from throughout the African Diaspora, more just recently focusing on the richness and complexity of Black British life.
