Manistee County Library just recently revealed that Todd & & Brad Reed Photography will be giving a presentation at 6 p.m. on Jan. 31 at the Wagoner Recreation center, situated at 260 St. Mary S. Parkway in Manistee. This all-ages,
complimentary program is sponsored by the library.
Todd Reed, son Brad Reed and company partner Rachel Gaudette have over 50 years of combined experience in the field. The trio juggle a gallery and online retailer and are renowned for their still photos that record the beauty of Michigan.
Brad Reed has fond memories of working with his daddy at a young age.
“Even though my father worked several tasks, he constantly included his family,” Brad Reed said in a news release.
This meant that Brad tagged along on his father’s newspaper projects and was enabled to play at the Coast Guard Station when his dad was on duty. When Todd Reed taught photography classes at West Coast Neighborhood College, he welcomed his child along to learn the family trade.
Brad ultimately ended up being a partner in his father’s Ludington image gallery and the two were later joined by Custer citizen and photographer Gaudette.
“We make a great group,” Brad stated. “My dad is fantastic at talking with people. I have more of a service and computer background, and Rachel, she’s the brains of the operation.”
Brad admits that it’s never ever been easy for photographers to make a living, and with the arrival of electronic camera phones, it seems like almost everybody considers themselves a professional photographer nowadays. To stand apart from the crowd, the group ventures out in all sort of weather and conditions to capture the most unattainable shots.
“We wish to exist when the moments are extraordinary,” Brad stated.
He feels that the key to a splendid shot is hitting all 5 senses. “We wish to tell a story, but we also want people to feel the story. We’re an open book. We don’t conceal about photography or publishing.”
The group will exist pictures and highlights from their latest two pictorial books and they encourage attendees to bring questions.
According to Executive Director Debra Greenacre, the library works hard to generate speakers that attract a broad audience.
“The group at Todd & & Brad Reed Photography are artists, instructors, entrepreneurs and nature lovers. They have a wealth of info to share with our community,” Greenacre said. “Those that attend will enjoy photos that capture Michigan outdoors, but they will likewise value the stories behind these images.”
