Continuous Lights Versus Flash for Portrait Photography – Fstoppers

July 16, 2022 by Photography

It used to be that continuous lighting was either way too hot or merely not effective enough for lighting portraits, but LEDs have come quite a long way recently, and they are now a feasible option to strobes in particular circumstances. This terrific video examines the two options while flaunting a distinct light that can do both.

Concerning you from Miguel Quiles, this cool video examines shooting portraits with both flash and consistent light while working with the Rotolight Aeos 2, a special hybrid light. LEDs have actually advanced quite a bit recently, and while they will still not provide the exact same power as a studio strobe, they can work for specific needs and circumstances. For example, I was a big fan of the Broncolor F160 in my review. In specific, with a mirrorless electronic camera, the ability to see your exact making and exposure at all times is quite remarkable, though you require to think about the drawbacks also. Hopefully, the technology will continue to advance and bring it even better to dedicated strobes in the years to come.

If you want to continue learning about how to light a picture, make sure to have a look at “Illuminating The Face: Lighting for Headshots and Portraits With Peter Hurley!”
