A youth photography contest is welcoming trainees to explore how Cherokee County’s waterways have altered over the years.The Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority is holding a”Then and Now “photography contest for K-12 trainees in the county. Students are asked to submit an old image from Cherokee County that includes a waterway, mill, dam or fish weir, and in addition to a present image at the same area. Submissions must consist of 50 to 100 words describing the photo and what local resource was used.Resources for the older photo can consist of older relative or good friends from the area, the Cherokee County History Center, Funk Heritage Center, the Woodstock Visitors Center and local libraries.Submissions need to be sent with the student’s name, school and
grade and narrative to [email protected]. The deadline for entries is Jan. 18.
