Thirty years is the sweetest time to open a brand-new chapter, and Lambert Lambert didn’t get this incorrect! To celebrate this anniversary, the Lambert company is moving to a brand-new area in the heart of Paris in the Marais.
For the opening of this brand-new address, Carole Lambert steps up at the same time by selecting to exhibit the work of New York photographer Meryl Meisler in Paris for the really very first time. Born in 1951, and influenced by Diane Arbus and Jacques-Henri Lartigue, Meryl studied with the famous Lisette Model before recording her own life, her cam strapped around her neck. A clubby by night and a teacher by day, it was not up until she retired in 2010 that she began to resume her extraordinary archives hence creating the event. The exhibition concentrates on nights at Studio 54, Les Mouches, and CBGB, to name a few, along with on her household parties. Driven by impertinence and humour, Meryl recorded minutes of intense joy and pure madness at the start of the disco scene, plunging us into New York in the seventies and eighties, a fascinating city in remarkable times.
